When Mumsey returns to our telly for the first time in more than 20 years she’ll be played by Maureen Lipman. The one-off Crystal Maze TV show airs at 9pm on Sunday October 16th on Channel 4 as part of their Stand-Up To Cancer campaign and is being hosted by a bald skullcap-sporting Stephen Merchant in a nod to former Crystal Maze presenter Richard O’Brien. The celebrity contestants consist of former footballer Rio Ferdinand, actress Michelle Keegan, Paralympics champ Jonnie Peacock, TV and radio host Sara Cox and comedian Josh Widdicombe.
The news about Maureen Lipman playing Mumsy was revealed on the TV show’s Instagram account and they’ll be drip feeding through more news this week ahead of the show’s broadcast.
The Crystal Maze is a Fizz production filmed with Little Lion Entertainment at The Crystal Maze Live Experience for Channel 4’s Stand up to Cancer campaign, and is sponsored by BT
