ZONE SPOTLIGHT: THE INDUSTRIAL ZONE

18th Nov 2025

If you’ve already read into the Aztec Zone in our previous article you’ll have noticed the running theme of ancient mystery and sun-baked adventure, but this time we’re stepping into something completely different.

Today’s spotlight is on the legendary Industrial zone - a gritty, modern chemical-plant labyrinth that feels like you’ve wandered straight into the heart of a malfunctioning factory. And trust us… experiencing it in person at The Crystal Maze LIVE EXPERIENCE takes everything you remember from the show and dials it up perfectly.

The moment you enter Industrial, the tone shifts. Gone are the crumbling ruins and warm sands; instead, you're greeted by towering stacks of metal barrels, harsh warning signs, and the unmistakable hum of machinery. There’s even a bubbling chemical pool adding that extra hint of chaos. Corrugated roofing and industrial panelling loom overhead, creating an atmosphere where every surface looks like it might buzz, rattle, or spark at any moment - the kind of place you definitely wouldn’t linger in without a hard hat.

What makes the Industrial zone so much fun in The Crystal Maze LIVE EXPERIENCE is the way it immediately becomes part of the challenge. The zone itself feels like an obstacle course, with pipes, barrels, railings, and platforms shaping your path as you make your way to each game. Every cell sits behind a solid metal door, and stepping inside feels like entering a new environment entirely - a cluttered storage room here, a chaotic office space there - each one cleverly themed and slightly unhinged in the best possible way.

Just like the original series, watching teammates attempt their games is half the thrill. The Crystal Maze LIVE EXPERIENCE recreates this perfectly. Sometimes you’ll gather around a truly immersive game, and other times you’ll peer directly through a viewing panel into the action unfolding inside the cell. Cue shouting, frantic instructions, uncontrollable laughter, and the occasional moment where your teammate looks utterly lost in a room full of pipes and flashing lights.

The journey into the zone has evolved over the show’s lifetime, but at the live experience it’s designed to feel suitably awkward and industrial - like you’ve squeezed through a restricted access route you definitely weren’t cleared for. Once inside, elevated walkways, tunnels, and metal platforms connect the different areas, giving the whole zone that “living machine” feel that fans always loved from the TV version… but we won’t spoil it all just yet!

And here’s a fun trivia nugget… in the American adaptation of The Crystal Maze, the Industrial zone is coloured green on the map - a neat little nod to chemical hazards and toxic goo.

For anyone taking part in The Crystal Maze LIVE EXPERIENCE, Industrial is chaotic, loud, thrilling, and absolutely brilliant. It’s the perfect playground for yelling advice through a window while pretending you’ve got a full grasp of industrial safety procedures… even though you’re really just hoping no one accidentally pushes the wrong flashing button.
